Kelly J. Flood
Kelly J. Flood is a Supervising Attorney at ASU Alumni Law Group, and helps to develop curriculum and provide instruction for Associates. She has over 14 years of experience in the Arizona legal community, most recently as a senior staff attorney for a civil rights non-profit organization for the last two years. Before that, she served as a partner at the law firm of Polsinelli, P.C., where she handled complex civil litigation and appeals in both state and federal courts. During her 12-year career at her prior firm, she handled class action lawsuits on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants, legal malpractice cases, complex commercial disputes and employment-related litigation. She also handled a variety of appeals to the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court.
Kelly has also litigated constitutional law cases dealing with campaign finance and election law, civil rights, and has defended the rights of consumers and workers, including filing cases to vindicate the rights of employees to be fairly paid. Prior to joining Polsinelli, Kelly clerked for Judges Sarah D. Grant, Rebecca White Berch and Rudolph J. Gerber on the Arizona Court of Appeals.
Kelly has taught as an Adjunct Professor at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Kelly was a teacher, and she enjoys having the opportunity to train new Associates in the practice of law and providing legal services. She also enjoys being able to help clients learn about the law, our legal system, and how to navigate through it.
Kelly is also involved in a variety of bench/bar and community activities, including the Sandra Day O’Connor Inn of Court and the Arizona State Bar Civil Practice and Procedure Committee. She also served as a Lawyer Representative for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference. Kelly and her Certified Therapy Dog, Buddy, have volunteered for Hospice of the Valley’s Pet Connections Program, visiting patients on hospice care.
