Elizabeth Martinez’s practice focuses primarily on family law, including divorce, child custody, paternity, legal separation, child support, spousal support, third-party rights, relocation, enforcement, and modification of domestic relations orders. Ms. Martinez has practiced exclusively in family law for over 10 years, and opened her own family law firm in April of 2011. She continues to run her private practice while supervising family law cases as of-counsel to the ASU Alumni Law Group.
Prior to family law, Ms. Martinez began her legal career in general civil and commercial litigation, including insurance defense and representation of residential developers in construction defect litigation. Ms. Martinez served in associate and senior-associate positions at mid-sized law firms in the Phoenix Metropolitan area where she represented national homebuilders in construction defect mass actions involving multiple and varied defect claims brought by homeowners. This practice included third-party actions against subcontractors for contractual indemnity and additional-insured carrier obligations. Ms. Martinez’s work in civil litigation honed her negotiation and trial skills for a successful family law practice.
Ms. Martinez is licensed to practice in all state courts in Arizona, and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
