Patricia K. Norris
Patricia K. Norris served as a judge on the Arizona Court of Appeals (Division One) from late 2003 until her retirement in June 2017. As a judge on the court, Pat authored over 1000 decisions in civil, criminal, and administrative appeals.
Before joining the court, Pat was a partner at Lewis and Roca, Phoenix. During Pat’s 25 years with the firm, her practice centered on civil, business, and commercial litigation and appeals.
Pat received her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University (1974) and J.D. degree, magna cum laude (1977), from Arizona State University College of Law. Pat clerked for Judge Mary M. Schroeder of the Arizona Court of Appeals from 1977 – 1978.
Among her professional activities, Pat has served on the Arizona Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct, participated in the Volunteer Lawyers Program, and served as an adjunct professor at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, Arizona State University. She is also a member of the Lorna Lockwood Inn of Court. Pat served as president of the Arizona State University Alumni Association (1985-86). She has published articles on civil litigation and is
co-editor and contributing author of the Arizona Attorneys’ Fees Manual (6th ed. 2017) published by the State Bar of Arizona. She is also a frequent lecturer at State Bar and judicial continuing legal education programs. Pat is active in the State Bar of Arizona, and served as co-chair of the State Bar Convention in 2016
An active participant in community services, Pat is a member of the Board of Directors of Arizona Town Hall, and is currently Chair-Elect. Pat has been honored by the Arizona Women Lawyers Association and the Maricopa County Bar Association for her contributions to the legal profession and the judiciary. In 2016, the Arizona Association for Justice presented Pat with the Judicial Integrity Award, and in June 2017, the State Bar of Arizona awarded Pat the James A. Walsh Outstanding Jurist Award.
